Schedule
Students in grade K-4 will have DAILY 30-minute PE classes! Students in grades 5/6 will have two hour long classes and one half hour class. Students in grades 7/8 will have two hour long elective classes that change with the semester.
Shoes
All students MUST wear appropriate athletic shoes to every PE class. We understand that with the new schedule it might be difficult to dress students in athletic shoes every day. Feel free to leave shoes in your child’s classroom if you do not want to have them wear them to school. Students will be expected to change into these shoes BEFORE they come to PE. If your child has difficulty changing shoes, please have them wear them to school. During rainy and snowy days, students are expected to change from boots to gym shoes. Sandals, flip-flops, high heels, boots, and other shoes that could be unsafe during activities are not permitted. Students will loose points towards their daily preparedness grade if not in appropriate shoes.
Uniforms/Clothing
We do not have PE uniforms but students are expected to be dressed in appropriate workout clothes on the days they have class. As mentioned above, correct footwear is our biggest concern, but making sure students are dressed in comfortable clothes will help them be able to move easier and be successful.
Student Illness
If your child is ill and you would not like them to participate in a PE class please send in a signed note that includes their name, the date you would like them to sit out, their teacher’s name, and your signature. This will be kept on file and will only be accepted for the dates that are on the note.

Students in grades 1-7 will use the following weighted grading system:
60% Active Participation and Preparedness
20% Knowledge Concepts
20% Skill Assessments
Students in Kindergarten will use the following scale:
